Inside-Out’s Empty Bowl Dinner set for Feb. 22

MADISON – For the second year, Inside-Out Ministries will host the Empty Bowl Dinner as a fundraiser to feed local families.

Larry and Deborah Ward at Inside-Out Ministries expect more than 250 people to attend the Empty Bowl Dinner on Feb. 22 at Insanity Complex, 100 Skate Park Drive in Madison. The meal will be served from 4 to 8 p.m.

“You can enjoy a simple meal to help feed the hungry in Madison and Triana area,” Deborah Ward said. “Your donation gets you a handcrafted bowl and basic dinner consisting of soup or chili, bread, dessert and drink.”

To prepare for the dinner, volunteers met on two occasions at Sullivan Street Pottery to make bowls for serving the dinner. In addition, Bob Jones High School students helped paint the bowls during their Patriot Path time slots.

Tickets are available at Inside-Out’s offices at 103 Gin Oaks Court, just off Sullivan Street in downtown Madison, on Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tickets for adults are $15 each and for children (10 years old and younger) are $10 each.

“Reserve your spot, and get ready to have some fun,” Ward said.

Ranging from $250 to $2,500, sponsorships are available for Empty Bowl Dinner and include event tickets, signage and local media publicity.

To-date, sponsors for Empty Bowl Dinner include Insanity Complex, Sullivan Street Pottery, Martha Marks, Peck-Glasgow Insurance, Allstate Insurance with agent Brad Johnson, WAY-FM 88.1 Radio and Synovus.

Ward thanked Martha Marks Pottery, Madison Senior Center artists, Huntsville Senior Center artists and Inside-Out volunteers for making dinner bowls. “Your gift of talent and time makes the event even more special,” she said.
