MADISON – Most recently, Lieutenant Colonel Stacey E Harring has been serving as Deputy Cyber Operations Division Chief, Army Material Command on Redstone Arsenal.

However, in June she will move from Madison to take command of the Defense Information Systems Agency, Army Reserve Element at Fort Meade, Md. The family moved to Alabama when her husband, Colonel Marcus Harring, was assigned to Army Material Command on Redstone Arsenal.

The Harrings eventually will return and retire with Alabama as their “forever home,” she said.   

A native of Oil City, Pa., she graduated in 1999 from Gannon University in Erie, Pa. and was commissioned as Second Lieutenant in the Quartermaster Corps. Harring earned a bachelor’s degree in science and master’s degree in procurement and acquisition management.

Harring’s military education includes Quartermaster Corps Officer Basic Course, Combined Logistics Captains Career Course, Command and General Staff Officer Course and Advanced Operations Course.

During 18 years of service, Harring has served at Fort Hood as Fuel and Water Platoon Leader, 62nd QM Co.; Assistant Secretary of the General Staff, 13th COSCOM; and Rear Detachment Commander, HHC, STB, 13th COSCOM.

In Operation Iraqi Freedom, Harring deployed to Baghdad, Iraq as Aide de Camp, CPATT, Multi-National Security Transition Command.

Harring also served at Fort Belvoir, Va. (S4, 3rd BDE, 104th TNG DIV); Fort Wadsworth, N.Y. (ACoS G4, 353rd Civil Affairs Command); Fort Gillem, Ga. (CSS Team Chief, 3 BN, 345th REGT, TS); and at East Point, Ga. for 335th Signal Command as Secretary of the General Staff and also as CoS G4 Maintenance Officer.

The Harrings have four children: 20-year-old Vince at Kennesaw University; 18-year-old Kelsey, entering Pennsylvania State University; 10-year-old Kevin; and three-year-old Hadley.

Stacey Harring serves as Adjutant for American Legion, Post 229 in Madison. She participates with Huntsville/Redstone Arsenal Team RWB, Run for the Fallen and as a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Madison.

“My family and I love to travel, go on adventures and make memories,” she said.
