Waitr delivery now available in Madison

MADISON – Madison residents now can take advantage of Waitr, a food delivery service.

Waitr’s widespread appeal in Huntsville has triggered the restaurant on-demand platform to expand its service to Madison. The Waitr app allows an individual to order from a favorite restaurant, and a Waitr driver will deliver the order for a flat fee of $5.

More than 60 area restaurants now are using Waitr.

Launched in 2015, Waitr is an on-demand restaurant platform designed to connect local restaurants to hungry consumers. Founded in Lake Charles, La., Waitr develops the local food culture for communities by expanding the reach of local restaurant menus.

Available on the Internet, iPhone and Android devices, Waitr is the most convenient way to discover, order and eat great food from the best local restaurants, public relations director Dean Turcol said.

“Waitr is seen as the industry’s top food delivery service for customers and businesses alike,” Turcol said. “Since launching in November in Huntsville, Waitr has delivered more than 9,000 meals. The expansion will trigger even more new jobs.”

To-date, Madison restaurants that have signed up with Waitr include Earth and Stone Wood Fired Pizza, Buffalo Wild Wings, Frios Gourmet Pops, El Omeca, Red Fish Teriyaki Asian Express and Uncle Maddio’s Pizza.

To celebrate Waitr’s growth, the company hosted a launch party at Earth and Stone Wood Fired Pizza on May 24.

“The Madison community and restaurant owners saw the excitement and success of our food delivery in the area and wanted to be part of it,” Shaun Tousignant said. Tousignant is Regional Marketing Manager for Waitr. “We’re thrilled we can now meet that demand here.”

Tousignant said customers rave about Waitr’s convenience and favorable pricing with the $5 delivery flat fee. Other unique, practical features include live monitoring of deliveries and full-color photography of every menu item.

Nationwide, Waitr now has more than 5,000 restaurant partners and more than 1 million users in more than 180 cities.

Waitr is looking to hire more drivers in the area. Interested individuals can apply at waitrapp.com/become-a-driver. For more information, visit waitrapp.com.
