Knights of Columbus urge blood donors to give

MADISON – Individuals can give a life-saving gift to others by participating in an upcoming blood drive.

Knights of Columbus, Assembly 2420 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church will sponsor its regular, bi-monthly American Red Cross blood drive on Feb. 16 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The blood drive will be staged in the church basement. For an appointment, visit redcrossblood.org. Type zip code “35758,” select the blood drive at St. John, and select the appointment time that you want.

“The need for blood in Alabama and the nation is constant, and especially so in the wakes of the hurricanes and this increased travel season,” spokesperson John Horch said.

“Your participation is greatly appreciated by the Red Cross and St. John’s Knights of Columbus, but most of all by those who need blood because of accident or illness,” Horch said. “Please take a few minutes out of your busy schedule and give the gift of life.”

St. John’s address is 1057 Hughes Road. For more information, call the church office at 256-722-0130 or Horch at 256-772-3280.
