Flood concerns heighten this week with expected rainfall and severe storms

The National Weather Service in Huntsville says the extended forecast will feature both a risk for flash and areal flooding through the week and strong to severe storms Wednesday night. Flooding remains the primary concern, as 3-5″ of rainfall is expected through Thursday. A Flash Flood Watch will be in effect from 6 AM Mon – 6 PM Tues, as 2-5″ of rain is expected to cause significant, life-threatening flooding concerns.
