Congressman Bradley Byrne to speak to Republican Women of Madison

MADISON – U. S. Congressman Bradley Byrne, candidate for the U. S. Senate, will be special guest for Republican Women of Madison at their Feb. 19 meeting.

The luncheon at the Best Western Plus, 9035 Madison Blvd., will start with a social at 11 a.m. and the meeting from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. “Since several other local candidates also plan to attend, please try to be there at 11 a.m. in order to socialize with your friends. Shortly after 11:30 a.m., local candidates will be speaking until time for the main speaker,” Second Vice President Glenda Neill said.

In addition, club members plan to conduct a straw poll for the U. S. Senate race and the U. S. Congressional race.

Byrne graduated from the University of Alabama School of Law and returned to his hometown of Mobile to practice law. He married Rebecca, and he became a concerned parent about education in Alabama, leading to service with Alabama State Board of Education. He won a seat in the Alabama State Senate and then U.S. Congress.

For meeting reservations, email repwomenmadison@gmail.com before noon on Feb. 18, and indicate choice of either entree or a salad with chicken. Meal cost is $15.

Active membership is open to any woman who supports the Republican Women of Madison’s objectives. Active members receive regular communications via email and have voting rights. Annual dues are $40.

In addition, associate membership is open to women who are regular members of another Federated Republican Women’s club; men who want to join the club; and spouses of club members. Associate members do not vote; annual dues are $15.

The club meets monthly on third Wednesdays. For more information, email repwomenmadison@gmail.com or visit republicanwomenofmadison.com or Facebook/Republican Women of Madison.
