HEMSI to maintain normal operations

Huntsville Emergency Medical Services, Inc. (HEMSI) announced that ambulances and crews will continue to provide full-scale emergency medical services during the coronavirus response efforts, having proactively added capacity for any future surge in call volume.

To respond as effectively as possible, HEMSI is closely monitoring call volume and screening patients at the dispatch level.  In addition, crews are wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) to increase safety for both the first responders and their patients.

HEMSI CEO Jon Howell said, “Our staff is resilient and our crews doing a great job in taking action to mitigate this crisis.  We stand ready to serve the community with the very best possible care.”

Howell continued, “Our patients can be assured that they will be safe and will receive the best that paramedicine has to offer.”
