Heavy round of storms near Birmingham heading to North Alabama

Get ready! That’s the message the US National Weather Service in Huntsville is getting out in an update on the storms heading our way. Most of the heavy rain has moved north of the AL/TN state line. Next round of heavy rain and thunderstorms is currently southwest of Birmingham and will move northeast the rest of the morning into the afternoon.

The Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH) recommends your first priority is to protect yourself from a potential tornado. Local shelters are open for community members.
