COVID-19 cases in Madison County continue to increase, but at a slower rate
The number of COVID-19 cases in Madison County increased by four over the past 24 hours. It now stands at 194 with four confirmed deaths from the illness. Limestone County still has 38 cases and no deaths.
There are a total of 4,404 cases of COVID-19 in Alabama, according to the ADPH as of Friday, April 17, at 9 a.m. There are currently 671,493 cases of COVID-19 nationwide, with 33,288 deaths and 56,236 recovered, according to Johns Hopkins University.
Of 137 deaths reported statewide, 82 have been confirmed as due to the virus across the state by the ADPH. The department also reports 553 total hospitalizations due to COVID-19.
