Sunday update of local and statewide COVID-19 cases
The Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH) reports that Madison County now has 198 cases of COVID-19 with four deaths from the illness. Limestone County still has 40 cases and no deaths.
There are a total of 4,792 cases of COVID-19 in Alabama, according to the ADPH as of Sunday, April 19, at 1 p.m. There are currently 742,442 cases of COVID-19 nationwide, with 39,291 deaths and 67,052 recovered, according to Johns Hopkins University.
Statewide there have been 152 deaths reported with 113 of those confirmed by the ADPH. The department also reports 641 total hospitalizations due to COVID-19.
Sunday Morning COVID-19 graph updates, the state appears to have notably slowed case growth, it is not clear how much of that is due to the correction by the ADPH of previous over-reporting that occurred this weekend (see yesterday’s post). Either way, it does indicate some flattening of the state-wide growth curve. – From Innova Primary Care
