Madison County continues to flatten the curve in COVID-19 cases
MADISON – So far there has not been a significant spike of coronavirus cases in Madison County since retail stores reopened on Thursday evening, although it may still be too early to tell if it will cause more cases.
The number of new COVID-19 cases has increased by four since Monday morning, which has been the usual rate of growth lately. The Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH) shows that 238 people in the county have tested positive since reporting began in March. Limestone has 48, which has only increased by three since Monday.
There have been four deaths associated with COVID-19 in Madison County and none for Limestone.
There are a total of 8,449 cases of COVID-19 in Alabama. There have been 339 deaths due to the illness. The department also reports 1,138 total hospitalizations due to COVID-19 since March 13.
