Bob Jones Band hosts Car Show and Food Truck Rally on Oct. 24

MADISON – Chrome will be polished, vehicles will be waxed, and spectators will be envious of the ‘rides’ at the Bob Jones Band Car Show and Food Truck Rally 2020.

In its second consecutive year, the event is scheduled for Oct. 24 from 3 to 7 p.m. The car show will be staged in the parking lot of Madison City Schools Stadium at 211 Celtic Drive. The new location for the show will allow for additional space for the entries and for spectator parking.

Last year, owners showed approximately 90 registered cars. The event also included a long row of crafts, and outstanding food trucks and dessert trucks to feed the hungry crowd.

The event is free for spectators to attend and admire the immaculate hotrods, muscle cars, vintage autos and trucks. Owners can register their car or truck for the show for $20.

Each hour, organizers will give away a $100 bill to a lucky spectator. An aluminum race jack for quick and efficient servicing to cars and trucks will be given away, too.

Visitors can splurge with tasty and savory concessions from food trucks and dessert trucks. Local crafts artisans will show and sell their crafts in one section of the event.

Horsepower Therapy, accompanied by two veterans, will attend the car and truck show. Organization members will give away Adam’s Polishes to visitors who stop by.

Another special guest will be Printerson Steward with Autoworkz. He will answer questions about paint correction and ceramic coatings for vehicles.

At the show’s conclusions, vehicle owners will receive 13 custom-made trophies that depict the instruments that band members play.

Bob Jones Patriot Band, Color Guard and Dancers will present a special performance of competition show music. Because of the COVID-19 threat, organizers canceled all competition events this year, but Patriot Band members memorized music and marching routines for a field show.

All the proceeds — 100 percent of the show’s profits – will go to the supply, equipment and logistics needs for the Bob Jones Band program members.

Bob Jones Band Boosters supports the instrumental music program, including directors at Bob Jones, and raises funds for the band’s operating expenses, uniforms and instruments. The boosters also provide band students a way to raise funds to pay for their band fees and other activities.
