Asbury Church planning 2021 Cruise-In for April 24

MADISON – Awesome cars, trucks, and bikes will be back on the Madison Campus at Asbury Church for the Cruise-In next month on Saturday, April 24, from 8am-11am.

In order to keep this annual community event as safe as possible, organizers say the traditional Car Show will be re-envisioned this year as the Cruise-In to provide a more relaxed way for car enthusiasts to participate while maintaining social distancing throughout the parking lot.

“With free spectator admission and no registration fees, vehicles will come and go throughout the morning to provide a fun way to enjoy your Saturday outdoors, weather permitting,” said Andrea Wilhelm, Director of Creative Communications at Asbury.

She said free donuts, coffee, and hot chocolate will be served while supplies last. “While there will not be a designated kids area this year to reduce physical interactions, families are welcome to bring the kids along and share the wonder,” Wilhelm added.

“After pressing pause on most of our events last year due to COVID-19, we are so glad to be able to offer this fun morning for the community in a way that’s as safe as possible for everyone,” said Chris Knox, Pastor of Engagement at Asbury. “We love getting to know our neighbors and hope to see lots of new and familiar faces!”

The Cruise-In is open to all cars, such as sports cars and exotics, muscle cars, classics, antiques, as well as trucks and motorcycles. Car owners wanting to show off their vehicles can stop by anytime during the event and will be directed to a place to set up – no registration needed. Prizes will not be distributed at this event.

The Cruise-In will take place in the Asbury Church Madison north parking lot, and attendee parking will be available behind Building 3. Entrance will be from Gillespie Road. Find more information at asburycarshow.com.

Masks are not required for this outdoor event as long as social distancing can be practiced. Asbury is committed to your safety and follows the CDC and ADPH guidelines. Hand sanitizing stations will be provided throughout the area. Restroom access will be indoors.
