Thousands to flock into Madison this weekend for Dizzy Dean state tournament

DIZZY DEAN STATE TOURNAMENTS – The first of two Dizzy Dean Baseball tournaments were held last week. The state tournament for age brackets 5, 7, 9 and 11 started on June 18 at Palmer Park. Ages 6, 8, 10 and 12 will start this week, June 25. Over 100 teams are expected, bringing over 3,000 visitors to the city. Teams will compete to see who goes the Dizzy Dean World Series in Southaven MS. The Madison 7-year-old Dizzy Dean team is pictured above after winning the state title at the tournament.
