Several events planned to celebrate Halloween this weekend

There are several Halloween events planned this weekend too, but keep an eye on the weather. Those plans could be altered or canceled depending on the expected rain.

Several events planned to celebrate Halloween this weekend

MADISON – Jack-o’-lanterns are lit on front porches, neighborhood streets are blanketed in colorful leaves, mulled apple cider is simmering on the stove, and children are putting the finishing touches on costumes. With COVID numbers falling in North Alabama, many families are planning to venture out to an array of fun family events this weekend for Halloween.

We have compiled a list below of area events planned to celebrate the holiday this weekend. Keep in mind that forecasted rain from Thursday through Saturday could put a damper on some plans. Be sure to check the events’ websites for weather-related updates.

THE HAUNTED KINGDOM
October 29-30, 6-8:30 p.m.
Dublin Park in Madison

Kids Kingdom has been taken over by Halloween haunts! Wear your favorite costume and walk through the haunted playground after hours, then enjoy a Fall hayride around Dublin Park with your friends and family. Spooky concessions available. $5 per person donation – all proceeds benefit the Go Build a Kingdom Playground Fund! This community event is outdoors and socially distanced.

TRUNK OR TREAT & MOVIE NIGHT AT TOYOTA FIELD
October 30, 5-7 p.m.
Toyota Field in Town Madison
Bring your family out to Trunk or Treat & Movie Night Saturday, October 30! Make your way to Toyota Field, the home of the Rocket City Trash Pandas, for trick-or-treating from 5-7 p.m., followed by a screening of The Haunted Mansion at 7:15 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 day of event. YMCA HONK OR TREAT
October 30, 4-6 p.m.

Hogan Family YMCA will observe the Halloween tradition with Honk or Treat on Oct. 30. In its sixth consecutive year, Honk-or-Treat promises to entertain children with Halloween fun and will please parents with a safe, supervised activity for the spooky holiday. The event is free to the public. The event will be open from 4 to 6 p.m.

AIR FORCE JUNIOR ROTC CADETS TRUNK OR TREAT ON OCT. 28

A wickedly enjoyable time will permeate the brave souls who visit Trunk or Treat, hosted by the Elite Knights honor society with Air Force Junior ROTC at Bob Jones High School. The JROTC cadets will brave the harrowing Halloween aura to present Trunk or Treat on Oct. 28 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. All the young princesses, clowns and ninjas should report to the south parking lot at Bob Jones. The event is open to the community.

SPOOKY SPACE SPECTACULAR

Join the U.S. Space & Rocket Center for its ninth annual Halloween party. The event will take place on Saturday, Oct. 30, from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m., and will include hands-on activities, a live show featuring Dr. Osborne, tunes by DJ Teddy and lots of candy.

TRICK OR TREAT PARADE

Load up your vehicle with costumed kids (or grown folks) and roll on through the ‘Trick or Treat Parade’! You and your family are the float and Lowe Mill A&E will supply the goodies. Just imagine a reverse Mardi Gras parade with spookier spectators slinging sweets at you! Whether you choose to decorate your vehicle for the occasion (please do!) or just join the route, be sure to keep your windows rolled down so you can catch all the treats being tossed your way while you show off this year’s disguise! All those who wish to join the parade must be in a motor vehicle. There will be NO Trick or Treating inside the building though you and your little monsters are welcome to enjoy the halls and grounds. They ask that you mask.

ALL HALLOW’S EVE CONCERT

HAUNTED CARRIAGE RIDES

Super C Carriage presents Haunted Carriage Tours! Enjoy a ride on a New Orleans-style fringe-top limousine carriage on a trip through historic Downtown Huntsville. You’ll be entertained with ghost stories and history to fit the season. The ride lasts around 20-25 minutes and carries up to 6 adults at a time. The carriage is decked out with lights and spooky characters to set the mood! Tickets can be purchased beforehand or pay after with cash or card. Pick up is on the square in front of Sam & Greggs, Poppy & Parliament, or SiP.

A horror feature film will be shown in the North Lot on their 40 foot outdoor cinema screen EVERY SATURDAY NIGHT IN OCTOBER! These movies range from classic to contemporary; from fun-for-the-whole-family to absolute blood baths; from flicks everyone knows and loves to movies you’ll have to see to believe. Park the car (no earlier than 6 p.m.) tune in, sit back, and be terrified. Limited parking is available, so purchase your tickets for each screening online while they last. Costumes and candy are encouraged!
