Madison man charged with murder in wife’s shooting death
MADISON – A Madison man is in custody this morning, charged with murder in the shooting death of his wife Sunday night.
According to the Madison Police Department, officers responded to a shooting call in the 100 block of Philadelphia Drive near West Madison Elementary School around 7:45 p.m. Sunday. A female, later identified as 36-year-old Erin Jones of Madison, was pronounced dead at the scene.
City of Madison spokesperson Samantha Magnuson said based on available evidence, Madison Detectives arrested the victim’s husband, Reese Jones, 33, for murder. He was booked into the Madison County Jail with a $75,000 bond.
She said the case remains an on-going investigation, and no further information can be released at this time.
