Masks will be optional on Madison school buses starting Thursday
MADISON – One week after the mask mandate was dropped for students and staff in Madison City Schools, another move returning to normal is planned starting Thursday. MCS Superintendent Dr. Ed Nichols said Wednesday that beginning March 3 masks will not be required on Madison City school buses.
“This change aligns with the masks ‘optional’ status in MCS schools and new CDC guidance,” he said.
Huntsville City Schools was the last school district in Madison County still requiring masks, but they moved to a “masks optional” status on Tuesday. The ending of the masks mandates comes as hospitalizations for COVID dip into single digit numbers at Madison Hospital for the first time in several weeks.
