Bob Jones Redcoat Relays Showcases Top Athletes

MADISON- The annual Bob Jones Redcoat Relays track meet was again a huge success held on the confines of the artificial track facility at Bob Jones High. As many as 31 teams from across Alabama took to the action hosted by the Patriots’ program.

Overall, the host Patriots won 16 medals, including six gold, while Sparkman took home five medals, including two gold, and Madison Academy shared the wealth with one medal winner. Top individual performances included senior Aaliyah Washington of Bob Jones who took home two golds and one bronze medal and Sparkman’s sensational junior Janae Hilliard who won one gold and one silver medal each.

Boys: 100m- 2. Jordan Urrutia, 10, Bob Jones, 11.28; 400m- 2. Jordan Morrison, 11, Bob Jones, 50.00; 4x100m- 1. Bob Jones, 43.41; 4×100 throwers- 1. Bob Jones, 48.60; 4×400- 2. Bob Jones, 3:35.01; high jump- 2. Cosey Scarebrook, 12, Bob Jones, 6-02; shot put- 2. John English, 12, Madison Academy, 49-01.50; discus- 1. Bobby Gray, Sparkman, 144-08.

Girls: 100m- 1. Janae Hilliard, 11, Sparkman, 12.30, 3. Aaliyah Washington, 12, Bob Jones, 12.79; 200m- 2. Janae Hilliard, 11, Sparkman, 26.10, 3. Amanda Davis, 12, Sparkman, 26.29; 400m- 3. Nicola Peters, 10, Sparkman, 1:00.84; 4×100 throwers- 2. Bob Jones, 1:03.64; 4×400- 2. Bob Jones, 4:15.70; 4×800- 1. Bob Jones, 10:41.53; high jump- 2. Julia Grundevik, 11, Bob Jones, 4-10, 3. Ella Dickow, 11, Bob Jones, 4-10; long jump- 1. Aaliyah Washington, 12, Bob Jones, 17-03.50, 2. Kalah Christopher, 8, Bob Jones, 17-00; triple jump- 1. Aaliyah Washington, 12, Bob Jones, 35-01; pole vault- 1. Sydney Truesdail, 11, Bob Jones, 10-03.
