Nominate alum, service candidate for Bob Jones Hall of Fame

MADISON – Individuals who have set and achieved lofty goals that benefited Bob Jones High School are eligible for nomination to the Hall of Fame.

“Hall of Fame recognizes outstanding alumni of Bob Jones who have maintained a high standard of excellence and made a significant contribution in their fields of endeavor, or persons who are not alumni but have made a significant impact to Bob Jones in the form of leadership, service” and similar contributions,” Bob Jones Assistant Principal Amy Thaxton said.

Hall of Fame members serve as role models for current and future students at Bob Jones. Application deadline for online nominations is Sept. 20.

To qualify, alumni candidates must satisfy these requirements:

* Graduation – The candidate must have graduated from Bob Jones at least 10 years ago.

* Accomplishments – While attending Bob Jones, the candidate achieved significant impact in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership, athletics or any combination of these areas.

To qualify as a service candidate, the individual must have achieved these milestones:

* Commitment – Achieved a significant contribution to Bob Jones, Madison City Schools, City of Madison or combination of these institutions.

* Neutrality – Currently not employed by or affiliated with Bob Jones.

Former employees must match one of these requirements:

* Employment — Worked for the school for 10 or more years.

OR

* Status — Retired from Bob Jones, not employed for 10 years minimum, or deceased.

All candidates must meet the following selection criteria:

* Education — Significant accomplishments and contributions while at post-secondary educational institutions, including degrees attained and fields of study, and/or professional background and work experiences and/or contributions to civic and community involvement and substantial awards, honors or elected offices.

* Accomplishments – Notable contributions to City of Madison, statewide, globally or a combination.

Hall of Fame inductees will serve as Grand Marshalls of Bob Jones Homecoming Parade. These alumni will be introduced to the spectators at the Patriots football game.

To access the Hall of Fame nomination form, visit the Bob Jones website and click the “Our School” dropdown menu. Click “Hall of Fame,” and follow the directions to open the form.

In 2023, inductees into the Hall of Fame were the late Ryan Dupree, Dr. Ashley Hoffman, Russel Johnson and Reggie Ragland.
