U.S. Space & Rocket Center to host ‘Spooky Space Spectacular’ Oct. 26

MADISON – The ghostly staff at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center invites the public to “Spooky Space Spectacular,” the center’s annual Halloween party.

The center invites guests to trick-ortreat their way through the solar system. The ghastly guests can enjoy the spectacular on Oct. 26 from 5 to 8 p.m.

The Spooky Space Spectacular will have hands-on activities. The Hypership opens at 5 p.m. This motion-based simulator gives a five-minute, multi-sensory experience that combines a movie- like audiovisual presentation using a high-definition projection screen and surround sound, with the motion of the ride compartment. Different rides are available, including “Red Baron” and “Black Hole.”

At 5:15 p.m., the MAT opens, followed by flight simulations at 5:20 p.m. Deejay Donopoly will spin the tunes in the main atrium for an upbeat atmosphere in Spooky Space. When the youngsters pursue indoor trick-or-treating, their reward will be lots of candy.

The first planetarium show will begin at 5:30 p.m. and will run on the half-hour through the event; the last show will start at 7:30 p.m. Guests can participate in outdoor activities, weather permitting.

Throughout the museum, the center’s ghouls will set up activity tables for face painting, planet art, solar system bracelets, star formations and other amusements.

Admission is $10 per person. A family of five can enter for $40. Children who are one year old and younger will have free admission. The planetarium is included with admission. Museum add-ons will be available at regular prices.

Arm & Hammer is sponsoring the event.
