Four members of the Bob Jones baseball team signs for scholarships

MADISON – Four members of the Bob Jones baseball team, which won the Class 7A State Championship last spring, signed scholarship offers and will play their favorite sport at the next level.

Zack Johnson (C, 6-0, 185, Sr.) signed to play for the Alabama Crimson Tide with a 3.89 grade point average and will study Finance Minor. Named to the 2024 All-State Team as a catcher and tabbed the Class 7A Hitter of the Year, Johnson has played in 94 games for the Patriots with 90 hits, 96 RBIs, 9 homers and a .350 batting average.

Robert Chatmon (UTL, 5-6, 160, Sr.) played in 40 games last season with 16 hits, 10 RBIs, 21 runs and a .216 batting average. He signed with Beville State with a 4.54 grade point average and will study Business Marketing.

Jack Shaw (P, 6-3, 180, Sr.) was perfect at 9-0 on the mound for the Patriots on their way to the state title. In his years with Bob Jones, he has 16 starts with 90.66 innings, a 10-1 record, 73 strikeouts and a 2.085 ERA. He has a 4.08 grade point average and will study Business at Wallace State-Dothan.

Tiger Flanigan (P/OF, 6-10, 180, Sr.) saw limited play for the Patriots in 2024. He played in 38 games. He has a 3.22 grade point average and will study Building Science at Wallace State-Hanceville.
