Larry’s Pistol and Pawn founder passes away

MADISON – Larry Barnett, founder of Larry’s Pistol and Pawn in Huntsville and Madison, has died.

Barnett passed away peacefully in his sleep, according to a statement on Thursday from Larry’s Pistol and Pawn.

Born on Aug. 9, 1947, he was a pillar of the Huntsville and Madison communities, known for his dedication to responsible firearm ownership and his hands-on approach with customers.

“Larry’s vision and unwavering dedication built Larry’s Pistol and Pawn into a cornerstone of our community,” the statement read. “He was known not only for his extensive knowledge and commitment to responsible firearm ownership, but also for his genuine care for his customers and his active presence in the stores.”

Despite his passing, the business will continue operating as usual. Larry’s Pistol and Pawn expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support from the community.
