Young, old(er) can ring in New Year’s Eve at the library or botanical garden
MADISON – Whether a fun-loving boy or girl – or – an adult who wants to celebrate, events are open for young and old(er) people to ring in New Year’s Eve Madison Public Library will host the “Noon Year’s Eve Party” on Dec. 31 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The daytime hours will better suit the youth who can attend in a safe, sober environment.
“Join us for our third annual Noon Year’s Eve celebration with an extra special K-Pop twist. (K-Pop is a music genre for youth that originated in South Korea.)
Festivities will include snacks, crafts, a photo booth, K-Pop dance party and a noon countdown (for the pretend time of the New Year) with confetti drop,” according to the library’s website, rooms. hmcpl.org.
“Heels, nails, books, mascara. Fit check for our library era!” the website states. The staff recommends fancy dress, costumes . . . even PJs.

At Huntsville Botanical Garden on Dec. 31, ring in the New Year with style, sparkle and Old Hollywood flair at “Lights, Glamour, Garden” from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. The garden is issuing an invitation to welcome 2026 in unforgettable fashion — surrounded by friends, great music and the garden’s magical nighttime scenery.
The garden staff suggests semi-formal or cocktail attire . . . think ‘classic Old Hollywood glam.’ Bring a coat for walks on garden paths.
Partygoers will welcome 2026 in red-carpet fashion as they dance to jazz and swing-inspired music for a festive, high-energy celebration inside Isenberg Grand Hall.
Mason Dixon will serve heavy hors d’oeuvres. The charcuterie station will have cured meats, fruits, cheeses, pecans, artichokes, strawberry jam and more. Other selections will include crostinis; sweet and sour meatballs; caprese skewers and hot chicken or roast beef sliders. For desserts, mini-cupcakes, cheesecake bites and chocolate- covered strawberries will please guests.
A cash bar will be open. “Lights, Glamour, Garden” is a 21-plus event.
Guests can take outdoor strolls, like the path around Little Smith Lake. Purdy Butterfly House will morph into a color- filled wonder of lights and atmosphere. As midnight nears, guests will have a complimentary champagne toast.
Tickets for garden members are $125 each. For individuals who aren’t members, ticket price is $150. Tickets are available for pre-sale only and will not be sold at the event.
