Second Mile Development to host two-day benefit concert event with singer-songwriter and author Jennifer Daniels, Jan. 23–24

HUNTSVILLE — Second Mile Development will welcome acclaimed singer-songwriter, musician, and children’s author Jennifer Daniels for a special two-day fundraising event January 23–24, 2026. The weekend will feature an intimate benefit concert and a free, family-friendly interactive performance for children, with all proceeds supporting Second Mile programs.

The event kicks off on Friday, January 23, with an evening benefit concert at the new Fantasy Playhouse Theatre. Known for her soulful storytelling, heartfelt lyrics, and engaging stage presence, Daniels delights audiences with off-the-cuff humor and songs that remind us how to be human. The other half of this fiery folk/rock duo is Jenn’s husband, Jeff Neal, whose intuitive lead guitar and mandolin create rich soundscapes for her poetry. A limited number of exclusive VIP pre-show tickets include a creative workshop with Daniels and are available in advance.

Daniels will perform original music at this intimate singer-songwriter-style show, reflecting her passion for creativity, connection, and purpose. Ticket sales from Friday’s concert will directly benefit Second Mile’s work supporting children and families in our community.

On Saturday, January 24, Daniels will return for a free, all-ages interactive family show at Trinity Methodist Church. Designed especially for children and their caregivers, the performance blends music, storytelling, and audience participation. Following the show, Daniels will host a book signing featuring her children’s and young adult titles. This Saturday event is open to the public at no cost; donations will be accepted.

Jennifer Daniels is widely recognized for creating music and stories that resonate with audiences of all ages. Her work spans live performance, recordings, and published books that encourage imagination, empathy, and joy. More information about her work can be found at jenniferdaniels.com.

Music brings people together in a meaningful way,” said Vicky HInton, Executive Director of Second Mile Development. “Jennifer’s ability to connect with both adults and children makes this weekend of live music events especially powerful. Every ticket purchased and every note sung helps us further our mission.”

Second Mile is a Huntsville-based nonprofit dedicated to strengthening families and supporting children through education, resources, and community partnerships. Funds raised during the January 23–24 event will directly support Second Mile programs serving North Alabama families.
