MADISON – An entourage from Madison and Huntsville chambers will take a bus trip to Montgomery for meetings with top state leaders.

“This annual trip to the state capital provides an opportunity for business and community leaders to meet with key state government officials,” Michelle Epling said. Epling is President of Madison Chamber of Commerce. “While in Montgomery, we will meet with Gov. Kay Ivey and the leadership of the Alabama Legislature.”

“The bus trip provides an excellent opportunity to network with key figures throughout our communities and press our critical state issues. We are pleased to join the Huntsville/Madison County Chamber again this year,” Epling said.

The Montgomery trip involves an overnight visit. Participants can drive independently or ride the chamber bus. Participants must secure a seat to ride on the bus and reserve a hotel room for the night.

The bus will leave from Huntsville/ Madison County Chamber’s parking lot at 225 Church St. NW in Huntsville on March 3 at 1 p.m. The bus will arrive at Renaissance Hotel Montgomery at 4 p.m. A reception honoring state government leaders will be held at Montgomery Performing Arts Centre Atrium from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

On March 4, the group will meet for a breakfast program in the Renaissance Hotel from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. After breakfast, the travelers will check out and travel by car or bus to the State Archives for a meeting from 9:30 to 11 a.m. The bus will depart from the hotel at 9 a.m.

At 11:30 a.m., individuals can walk or ride the bus to RSA Plaza Terrace for lunch at noon. The bus will arrive back in Huntsville on March 4 at approximately 5 p.m.

Registration fee includes bus transportation. Seats are limited; after the bus is full, the chamber will maintain a waitlist, but another bus will not be available.

Individuals must register in advance to ride the bus. Anyone who arrives without registering will be placed on standby. Individuals who pre-registered will be given a seat first.

Early-bird registration fee by Feb. 1 is $550. Registration fee after Feb. 1 is $600. Registration fee does not include hotel reservations. The trip is open only to chamber members.

Refunds will not be processed after Feb. 16. Refunds to credit cards will be charged a six-percent processing fee. Anyone who is a member of both chambers should register on only one site.

The hotel block with the chamber’s discount will close on Feb 4. at 5 p.m.
