Main Street Madison to host “Taste of Downtown” Block Party on Saturday

MADISON – Downtown Madison is the place to be this Saturday. Main Street Madison is joining forces with downtown restaurants to host an incredibly delicious block party on May 16 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Dubbed the “Taste of Downtown Block Party”, the day will be filled with fun activities, music and, of course, food.

According to Main Street Madison Executive Director Jen DeLessio, the free, family-friendly event will be packed with activities for all ages, including kids’ games, interactive fun, and a lively downtown atmosphere.

“People can stroll through downtown, soak up the atmosphere, and explore everything our local businesses have to offer. If they are looking for something extra special, they can upgrade their experience with a $30 Taste of Downtown ticket,” she explained. “Participating restaurants will feature abbreviated menus during the event, giving guests a quick taste of their everyday favorites.”

Anyone with a ticket can sample exclusive dishes from some of downtown’s best spots, including Old Black Bear (crawfish boil), Main Street Cafe (shrimp boil), Zanottas (a new flatbread creation), The Vine & Oak (curated meat and cheese sampling), and Lanier Tea House (assorted finger desserts).

Tickets can be bought at www.mainstreetmadison.org, and few can be bought at the event.

To help set the mood, guests at the block party can enjoy live music from Josh Allison Music from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Then keep the energy going, Phillip Rigsby takes over as DJ from 2 to 4 p.m.

“Whether you come for the entertainment, the food, or the community spirit, the Taste of Downtown Block Party is the perfect way to experience all that downtown Madison has to offer,” DeLessio said. “Bring your friends, bring the family, and spend the day celebrating community, great food, and live entertainment in the heart of Madison!”
