Madison man arrested for human trafficking in undercover sting

MADISON — A Madison man was one of seven people arrested last week during an undercover operation targeting adults accused of attempting to sexually exploit children, according to the Priceville Police Department.

The operation focused on identifying people who allegedly traveled with the intent to engage in sexual acts with children younger than 16.

Curtis Jermaine Turman, 44, of Madison, was charged with first-degree human trafficking, electronic solicitation of a child and traveling to meet a child for an unlawful sex act. He is being held without bond pending an Aniah’s Law hearing.

According to the Police Department, undercover investigators posed online as minors. Authorities said the suspects engaged in sexually explicit conversations with an undercover officer they believed to be a child before traveling to a predetermined location intending to carry out unlawful sexual acts.

Police said the investigation remains ongoing and additional arrests are expected.

The operation was conducted with assistance from Covenant Rescue Group, the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office, the Morgan County District Attorney’s Office and several other law enforcement agencies.

The following people were also arrested:

• Ruben Ramon Antonio, 25, of Cullman, charged with first-degree human trafficking, electronic solicitation of a child and traveling to meet a child for an unlawful sex act. Police said Antonio also has an Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainer. He is being held without bond pending an Aniah’s Law hearing.

• Brandon Ian Robb, 31, of Decatur, charged with first-degree human trafficking, electronic solicitation of a child and traveling to meet a child for an unlawful sex act. He is being held without bond pending an Aniah’s Law hearing.

• Cameron Bryant Earskine, 19, of Decatur, charged with tronic solicitation of a child and traveling to meet a child for an unlawful sex act. He is being held without bond pending an Aniah’s Law hearing.

• Cameron Bryant Earskine, 19, of Decatur, charged with first-degree human trafficking, electronic solicitation of a child and traveling to meet a child for an unlawful sex act. He is being held without bond pending an Aniah’s Law hearing.

• Travis Shawn Peete, 49, of Athens, charged with two counts each of electronic solicitation of a child and traveling to meet a child for an unlawful sex act. Police said his bond amount is pending.

• Jose Jiminez Pascual, 34, of Decatur, charged with first-degree human trafficking, electronic solicitation of a child and traveling to meet a child for an unlawful sex act. He is being held without bond pending an Aniah’s Law hearing.

• Savarius Jalin Evans, 18, of Courtland, charged with first-degree human trafficking, electronic solicitation of a child and traveling to meet a child for an unlawful sex act. He is being held without bond pending an Aniah’s Law hearing.
