Miskelly participates in sea lab
Zachary Miskelly, a student at Discovery Middle School in Madison has recently participated in the first ever science camp for middle school at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab on Dauphin Island. Students from across the country were given the opportunity to participate in independent and group activities in the realm of environmental science. They included seining at the Dauphin Island beaches, fishing at the pier, beach combing for maritime animals and plants, dissecting various marine animals, trawling in Mobile Bay and exploring the maritime forest.
Waits named to Sewanee dean's list
Joshua Crocker Waits, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles R. Waits Jr. of Madison, has been named to the dean's list at The University of the South at Sewanee for the spring 2002 term. To earn a place on the dean's list, a student must earn a minimum grade point average of 3.625 on a 4.0 scale. The University of the South, popularly known as Sewanee, is an independent liberal arts college in Tennessee.
Ellis earns degree from Walden University
Beverly Ellis has earned a master of science in education from Walden University. Ellis is a computer science teacher and technology coordinator and works at St. John's Catholic School in Madison. She holds a bachelor of science degree in elementary education from Auburn University at Montgomery.
