Community invited to annual fall festival

The catholic school has hosted the Fall Festival and Parrish Picnic for more than 10 years.

St. John the Baptist Catholic School’s Fall Festival is right around the corner.

The annual event will take place Saturday, Oct. 23 at the St. John’s field.

The festival is the largest community-oriented fundraiser the school’s PTO hosts. The money goes to help teachers with classroom supplies and PTO funds.

“This is the fourth year I’ve been a coordinator, and each year, it gets better and better,” said Betsy Lashley, event coordinator. “It’s an event where families can come together for a day of fun. The event itself isn’t so much about fundraising than about families coming out and having fun in a safe environment.”

She said last year, more than 500 people attended the festival. There will be a picnic, prizes, games, cakewalk, lunch and a $500 raffle, among other activities.

The event is open to the public. Admittance is $20 per family, which includes a pass to participate in all activities. An additional $10 will cover meals for the entire family.

“We also would like to welcome the greater Madison community to join us Saturday for fun and fellowship,” Lashley said.
