Melva Braun; Dec. 19, 2010

Melva Gay Owens Braun of Huntsville passed away on Dec 19, 2010.

Melva was born on Aug. 6, 1930, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Samuel and Loretta Owens. M

elva grew up in Cincinnati, graduated from Withrow High School, and lived in the Washington D.C. area, as well as Huntsville.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Robert R. Braun, and a sister June Gessner (William) of Cincinnati.

She is survived by 3 siblings – Joyce Dehner(Earl); Raymond Owens; and Pat Smith(John), all of Cincinnati. Her presence will be greatly missed by her five children – Joseph J. Braun; Judy B. Myers (Richard); Jennifer L. Braun; James R. Braun; and John A Braun (Alexandra); her seven grandchildren: Julie Charters(Douglas); Karen Stine(Jonathan); Christen Finley; Andrew Braun; Madeleine and McKenzie Metzner; and Jason Dooley; and her two great-grandchildren: Kaylie and Thomas Charters.

A strong and absolutely amazing woman, she loved unconditionally and gave completely unselfishly.

Thank you for letting us be a part of your life.

We are honored to call you Mom and we celebrate you!

You were always there with open arms and a kiss – the coffee perking and the food waiting.

We love you.

Memorial service was at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 23 at Madison Chapel Funeral Home with Chaplin Bill Gordon officiating.
