Mr. William Henry Doughty, Jr.; Jan. 6, 2011

Mr. William Henry Doughty, Jr. was born Feb. 23, 1962, in Williamston, North Carolina. William was the son of Barbara (stepfather, John) Mastin and William (stepmother, Pastor Emma Doughty). He departed this life on Thursday, Jan. 6, 2011. He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Betty Ann Maddox; sister, Georgia Anna Doughty, and nephew, Jerry Caudle.

He accepted Christ as his personal Savior and united at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Triana, Alabama.

He graduated from Bob Jones High School in 1980.He was also employed at Halsey Grocery for eight years. He resigned from Cinram after five years. He also was a Master Mason at Victory Lodge #745 in Hickory, North Carolina.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving and devoted wife, Mrs. Pamela Maddox Doughty; two sons, Reco M. Doughty of Mt. Holly, NC, Justin L. Maddox of Shelby, NC; five daughters, Katrina D. Doughty, LaToya R. Doughty both of Mt. Holly, NC, Yassmine I. Doughty, KeShay I. Doughty, Mya I. Doughty all of Huntsville, AL; five granddaughters, Aqliyah Doughty, Tia Doughty, Tamera Doughty all of Mt. Holly, NC, Kerinayiah Lockhart, Ta’lyssia Maddox; one grandson, Justin Maddox, Jr; one godson, Jordin Alandus Smith all of Shelby, NC; a loving grandmother, Mamie Williams of Williamston, NC; ten sisters, Barbara (Charles) Hurt, Mary (Harold) Allison, Carolyn Doughty (Greg), Marian Huguley, Patrina Doughty, Charolette (Roy) Leslie, Mary Doughty Jones, Lee Anna Doughty, Sarah (Alvin) Tipps all of Hickory, NC, Catrina Roger of Williamston, NC; six brothers, Jimmy Doughty, Anthony Doughty, Maurice Mastin and John Mastin, Jr. all of Huntsville, AL, Billy Jack Doughty, Maurice McDowell of Hickory, NC; father-in-law, Deacon James O. (Barbara) Maddox of Shelby, NC; three sisters-in-law, Patricia Maddox, Brenda Maddox, Dana Hopper all of Shelby, NC; four brothers-in-law, Raymond Mitchell of Hickory, NC, Stoney (Antra) Maddox, Terry (Crystal) Maddox, Joseph Thurman of Shelby, NC; a best friend, Tom Fearn; and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.

Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2011, at the St. Paul United Methodist Church (620 6th Street, Madison AL 35758) with Dr. Kanuau officiating. Interment will be in the Meadowlawn Garden of Peace. Public viewing at Royal Funeral Home was 12:00 Noon until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 9; and 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 10, 2011.
