Snow back in the forecast

Winter weather will once again move across the Tennessee Valley Thursday as a system developing over the northern Gulf of Mexico moves northeast.

The system will bring rain into the area Thursday evening, which is expected to turn into snow around midnight as temperatures near freezing.

With the temperatures not expected to drop much below freezing, little or no accumulation is expected.

However, as much as a tenth of an inch of ice could form on grassy areas and roadways, and motorists are asked to used extreme caution.

Temperatures are expected to rise above freezing by 9 a.m., helping to alleviate any wintery accumulations.

More rain is expected to fall on Friday, and then turn into snow Friday evening.

Forecasts are calling for up to an inch of snow, but it should taper off by Saturday afternoon.

Friday╒s high is expected to be 42, with a low of 31.

Saturday╒s high is expected to be 43, with a low of 28.
