Vision Airlines celebrates service with $19 fares

Warmer weather means many Madison residents will head to the beach and now there is a cheaper way to get there.

Vision Airlines will begin service to Huntsville on Friday, March 25 and is offering introductory $19 one-way airfares to Northwest Florida Regional Airport, which serves the Destin/Fort Walton Beach area.

Flights will be on Mondays and Fridays, and the fares can be purchased through March 24 and can be used during April or May.

The 16-year-old Atlanta-based company decided to include service to and from Huntsville based on the number of people from the area that drive to the Destin/Fort Walton Beach area annually.

“The main competition we see is the car,” said Clay Meek of Vision Airlines.

He said by offering low fares and nonstop service they are able to compete.

The company will also offer vacation packages.

“It’s a great service,” Meek said. “We’ve been doing this a long time and Huntsville has been long under served.”
