City to begin sweeping neighborhood roads

The city will begin sweeping neighborhood curbed streets Monday, April 4, as part of a program to improve cleanliness, health and safety in the city.

The program began March 14, as the city began sweeping major thoroughfares.

More than 50 tons of debris has been collected since March 14.

To minimize inconvenience on neighborhoods, sweeping of curbed streets will begin at 7:30 a.m. in the northwest portion of the city, and end at 4 p.m. each day.

If you have any questions or concerns, call Monique Johnson at the Public Works Department at 256-772-5606 ext. 5104.
