Volleyball league coming to Madison

Madison will soon have its own volleyball league.

Madison City Volleyball will be the city’s first official volleyball league.

“There are a lot of kids who have been going to Monrovia to play,” said Volleyball treasurer Tracey Beckett.

Beckett said the co-ed league would provide Madison kids an opportunity to gain experience and be active in their own community.

The league is open to all children ages 8 to 15.

Teams will be based on age 10 and under, age 12 and under  and 15 and under.

Games are expected to be played at Dublin Park and at some Madison City Schools.

Beckett said every kid who tries out would be guaranteed a spot on the team.

In-person registration will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 2 p.m., Saturday, April 9 at Palmer Park’s Westco Fields; Saturday, April 30 at Dublin Park; and Saturday, May 7 at both locations. All registration times will be from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Online registration begins Saturday, April 9 and will go through June 30. The cost is $80 per player, but registration after May 7 will cost an extra $10.

To register online, visit the league’s website at MadisonCityVolleyball.com.
