Chamber of Commerce makes changes to staff

The Madison Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors has spent the last several months developing a plan to move the chamber in a new direction.

This new strategy is said to “greatly” benefit members and the business community.

“As business owners our board was excited to build the chamber into an organization that will focus on the success of our member businesses and the Madison community as a whole,” said MCC Board President Michelle Nesin.

Nesin said often during times of progression, changes need to occur for the betterment of the organization and its vision.

Recently, the MCC made the decision to make changes in its staff. Nesin said while those employees have provided valuable assistance to the chamber in the past, it was imperative that the chamber staff be aligned with the new strategy and vision.

“We are confident that members will be proud to be a part of this new direction,” Nesin said.

Within the realm of the new strategic plan, the Chamber completely revamped its monthly luncheons by hosting speakers who provide pertinent information and resources to enhance the success of the business community.

Speakers already committed are Madison Hospital President Mary Lynne Wright in August and NASA’s MSFC Center Director Robert Lightfoot for December 3 Monthly MCC Luncheon.

In addition to Monthly Luncheons, the MCC will be providing monthly professional development training programs for members and will continue to elevate the current activities and events to a status worthy of business professionals.

“We are also excited to be working in partnership with Madison City government and the Mayor’s office by participating in and promoting city wide civic events,” Nesin said.

“I am excited to be working with the MCC as we implement our mission: The Madison Chamber of Commerce is an institution of leadership and an advocate for its members and the community,” states Felecia McInnish, MCC events, marketing and communications coordinator.
