Myrna “Mammaw” Montgomery; Jan. 17, 2011

Myrna “Mammaw” Montgomery, 85, of Madison passed away Tuesday, Jan. 17, at Windsor House Nursing Home. Funeral was Friday, Jan. 20, at 2 p.m. at Madison Chapel Funeral Home with Brother Richard Hendrix officiating, burial following at Madison City Cemetery. Visitation was from noon until service time.

Mrs. Montgomery was born March 11, 1926 in Alabama to Walter & Mable Barnwell Lowery.

She was preceded in death by her husband Rayburn Montgomery.

She was a founding member of the Madison Free Will Baptist Church and was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her son Roger Montgomery of Madison; daughter Diane Dupree (Jack) of Bunker Hill, Tenn.; brothers Eugene Lowery (Helen) of Madison; William Lowery (Ida) of Decatur; sisters Lucy Fergerson (Jim) of Decatur; Barbara Powell of Bethleham, Ga.; grandchildren, Johnny Montgomery, Tyler Montgomery (Katherine,) Tamra Chamblee (David,) and Dana Watson (Mike); great-grandchildren Brandon Swaim, Bryan Chamblee, Brooke Chamblee, Kayce Watson, Cole Watson, Britney Montgomery, Jack Montgomery, Avery Montgomery, Nathan Montgomery, Kyle Montgomery and Gavin Montgomery; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers will be grandsons Johnny, Tyler, Brandon and Bryan and grandsons in-law David and Mike. Online condolences may be made at www.madisonchapelfuneralhome.com
