Which Which Wich will you visit?

According to its website, Which Wich offers over 50 customizable sandwiches.

BY ANNA DURRETT / REPORTER

Which Wich Superior Sandwiches will soon be serving its customizable array of sandwiches in North Alabama.

The first Which Wich in the area will open in Madison at the new The Shoppes of Madison on Highway 72. Whit Webb, the franchisee bringing Which Wich to the area, said it’s projected to open around the first week of April. The location is actively hiring to fill its staff.

“We have a couple of different positions available, including assistant managers and Wich makers,” Webb said.

He will open a location in Huntsville in May at Valley Bend at Jones Farm shopping center. Webb currently operates two Which Wich locations in the Nashville area. Which Wich was founded in downtown Dallas in 2003 by Jeff Sinelli.

According to its website, Which Wich offers over 50 customizable sandwiches. To order, customers choose from 10 categories on pre-printed menus on paper sandwich bags, and then they select the type and size of bread, cheese, spreads and vegetables they want using a red Sharpie. In addition to Wiches, the restaurant has chips, hand-dipped shakes and freshly baked cookies.

Texas native Anthony Almond hasn’t eaten at the original Which Wich, but he has been to one in the Dallas area that opened a few years ago.

“I really, really like drawing on the bags,” said Almond. He often writes his name as Chewbacca on his bag so he can hear the Wich makers call it out. Which Wich encourages doodling on the bags and patrons can display their creations on a community wall. Almond also loves the restaurant’s barbeque sauce.

“It’s the only place I can get barbeque sauce on a sandwich.”

Elizabeth Gordon, who currently lives in Chicago, is a fan of both the Wiches and the shakes.

“The sandwiches are delicious,” said Gordon. Her favorite Wich is the chicken pesto. “The shakes are good quality, not thin and runny,” she said. Even when the restaurant is crowded, she said getting a Wich is a “quick process” and well worth the wait.
