Bob Jones assistant principal stays put

Madison Mayor Paul Finley and Dr. Julie Finley

BY ANNA DURRETT / REPORTER

Dr. Julie Finley, an assistant principal at Bob Jones, received a job at Huntsville City Schools, but resigned before she began.

“I am sincerely appreciative of the confidence Dr. Wardynski and Dr. Cooper had in my ability to support the technology initiative in Huntsville City Schools and considered the invitation a professional compliment,” said Finley of the superintendent and deputy superintendent choosing her for the position of coordinator for educational technology.

“However, while I thought I was ready to move, I realized throughout the weekend that the timing of change was not right for me or the family,” Finley said.

Finley decided to stay at Bob Jones and has resumed her position as assistant principal of curriculum and instruction.

Finley is the wife of Madison Mayor Paul Finley, who is not seeking reelection this year.

“Words can’t express how much I truly appreciated the kind notes I received after the announcement,” Finley said. “It just shows what an incredible Tennessee Valley community we have and how blessed we are to be a part of it. Rest assured I will be that much more committed to supporting Dr. Fowler, Robbie Parker, our teachers and most importantly our kids.”
