Inaugural MadFood set for June

By Aldo Amato
Staff Reporter

MADISON – The Madison Chamber of Commerce will partner with local businesses to celebrate the food and culture of Madison.

Live music, local brew and a fair amount of food will be on display at the Best Western Plus on June 18 for “MadFood”.
“Prepare your taste buds to sample your way through many culinary delights from the city and surrounding area,” Leigh Thigpen with the Chamber of Commerce said. “If you have not attended a food event, this would be a time to start.”

This will be the first ever “MadFood” event for the City of Madison though similar events have been held in the past.

“We are thrilled to have an event of this style to be offered in Madison,” Thigpen said. “This will be an event to remember.”

Confirmed businesses so far include Main Street Café, Sady’s Bistro, Apple Lane Farms, My Old San Juan Restaurant, Sakura Japenese Steakhouse, Taziki’s Café and Tea with Thee and Whistle Stop Sweet Shop.

“We currently have a variety of vendors offering tantalizing options,” Thigpen said. “Their unique style of food and beverages will make this event all the more special.”

Tickets for the event are now on sale starting at $20 for Madison Chamber of Commerce members and $25 for non-members. The Chamber has requested advance registration by visiting www.madisonalchamber.com or by calling (256) 325-8317.
