Summer school opens June 2 at Bob Jones, Discovery

MADISON – Students can gain new skills or improve in academics during summer school at Bob Jones high and Discovery middle schools.

Late registration will be held May 27-30 from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Bob Jones’ main office. Late registration fees will be $300 for Madison City Schools students. Students outside the Madison district will pay $350.

Sessions will start on June 2. Summer school hours will be 8 a.m. to 2:35 p.m. at Bob Jones. At Discovery, summer school hours will be 8 a.m. to noon.

The cost for summer school will be $275 per full credit course for students in Madison City Schools. For out-of-district students, the cost will be $325.

The first session of driver’s education at Bob Jones will run from June 2-13. Two other sessions will meet on June 16-27 and June 30-July 14.

To take the driver’s education course, Madison students will pay $200. For out-of-district students, the fee will be $225. Madison students registering late for driver’s education will pay $250, while out-of-district students will pay $275.

To park on campus, students must pay a $10 parking fee. All tuition and fees are due when a student registers.

At Discovery, students can register from May 27-30 from 8 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. in the front office. Late registration will be held June 2 at 8 a.m. Tuition is due at registration.

The courses offered will be math and language arts/reading for grades 5-8. Cost per course for Madison students will be $250. Other students will pay $300. On June 2 or later, the cost increases to $300 and $350, respectively.

Students can resolve unexcused, makeup days on June 11 and 25 from 1 to 4 p.m. The fee is $100 per student.
