Wall-Triana construction to begin June 18

After a slight delay from the original start date of June 12, a newsflash from Madison Road and Traffic Information was sent Monday afternoon to confirm that, weather-permitting, work will begin on the road on Wednesday, June 18.

Traffic will be diverted onto Hughes Road from Browns Ferry on the southern end of the closure and from Eastview Drive on the northern end. Only local traffic will be allowed north of Browns Ferry onto Wall-Triana.

The actual work will be on the Mill Creek Bridge, in red on the map, which Mayor Troy Trulock described as “old” and “very dangerous” at the initial press conference June 6.
