MADISON – The Patriots, their families and fans are celebrating all week for Homecoming 2014 at Bob Jones High School.

The Bob Jones Patriots football team will clash with the Florence High School Falcons at the homecoming game on Sept. 26 at 7 p.m. in Madison City Schools Stadium.

Leading up to homecoming, Bob Jones students are rallying school spirit with dress-up days. On Sept. 22, each class dressed for “Decade Day” with seniors in the 1980s, juniors in the 1970s, sophomores in the Roaring ’20s and freshman, as underclassmen, banned from the 20th century.

Other days are designated for students to wear outfits for various characters, in neon colors, to represent countries and holidays.

The Bob Jones Homecoming Parade will kick off at 5:30 p.m. on Sept 25. Parade participants will line up at 4:30 p.m. in the Spencer Square parking lot at the intersection of Celtic Drive and Madison Boulevard.

Grand marshals for the parade will be 2014 Hall of Fame inductees Mary Caudle, Sue Hall, Sue Helms, Bill Horton, Kelly Hailey Johnson and Ashleigh Meyer.

The parade will proceed north on Celtic Drive to the stadium. Parade units will enter the parking lot at the stadium’s north entrance and proceed west along the northern edge of the lot. The parade then will head south along the western edge of the parking lot and end eastbound on the southern edge of the parking lot, homecoming coordinator Robin Lakso said.

Madison police will close Celtic Drive from Madison Boulevard to the stadium’s north entrance for approximately 45 minutes. During this time, police advise motorists to use alternate routes and be aware of temporary delays to business along the route.

During halftime, the 2014 Bob Jones Homecoming Queen will be crowned. Hall of Fame inductees also will take the field for recognition.

On Sept. 27, the homecoming dance will be held in the Bob Jones gym from 8 to 11 p.m.
