MADISON – With Fall Break 2014 underway in Madison, teenagers can find an entertaining activity with friends this week at Madison Public Library.

“Madison teens can head to the Young Adult room at the library for a 1990s’ movie marathon on Oct. 6-10 at 2 p.m.,” youth services librarian Maggie Allen said. “We’ll premiere a 1990s’ movie in all its glory.”

The movie schedule includes “Mighty Ducks,” Oct. 7; “The Nightmare Before Christmas,” Oct. 8; “Newsies,” and Oct. 9; an all-time favorite, “Hocus Pocus.”

“Fandom Fest” returns on Oct. 9 at 6 p.m. with “Pushing Daisies,” ABC’s irreverent TV show for which Kristin Chenoweth won an Emmy for “Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series” for her portrayal of Olive Snook.

“Weather permitting, we will watch ‘Pushing Daisies’ outside in the children’s garden,” youth services librarian Rebecca Doom said. “‘Pushing Daisies’ is one of those series that has turned into a cult classic. It was a short-lived show that didn’t survive the writers’ strike about five years ago.”

The library’s address is 130 Plaza Blvd. For more information, email to mallen@hmcpl.org or rdoom@hmcpl.org.
