As the Bob Jones Patriot wrestlers head to the Von Braun Center Feb. 13 and 14 for the AHSAA state championships, the qualifiers set to compete will be without head coach Jason Edwards.
Edwards, who has been with Bob Jones for 15 years, was suspended from the classroom and coaching duties for 20 days starting on Jan. 23 and ending on Feb. 20.
“The action was taken at the [Madison City Schools] board meeting on Jan. 22,” MCS Superintendent Dee Fowler confirmed.
Previously, Edwards had been suspended from coaching duties for a period of time in a separate incident. Madison City Schools could not comment on the incident that led to Edwards’ current suspension.
