MADISON- After taking some time off after graduation Bob Jones Football Coach Kevin Rose is in full off-season mode.

Next week, Rose will host his annual Fun and Gun Football Camp for grades K-6 at the turf practice field behind the school. Landers McClarty Jeep is the sponsor and the first 100 kids to sign up will attend free.

The camp runs from 8-10 A.M. June 9-11.

“The camp builds interest in the Bob Jones football program while offering kids a free opportunity to learn about and play some football,” Rose said. “The kids love to divide into teams and play air ball.”

Several current football players will assist in the camp. They include Derek Marion, Miles Strickland, Cameron Langham, Brandon Alexander, Brady Polson, and Demarcus Clark.

Sessions will be held for offense and defense before the kids play a game. Footballs will be awarded as prizes to the best offensive and defensive players.

Kids or parents can pick up forms, fill them out and drop them off at the school’s front desk or download from the Bob Jones sports website. They can register in person June 9 at the football building in Coach Rose’s office.

Meanwhile next Monday, June 8 at 10 A.M. Rose will coach his 7 on 7 teams in an officials camp also at the turf field. The camp will only feature teams from Bob Jones and Hewitt Trussville.

This camp is for the benefit of officials and does not count as one of the four competition days allowed during the summer by the AHSAA.
