MADISON- Teams were in action Monday to make up games lost to winter weather last Friday. At Hazel Green, James Clemens won a showdown to determine the final standings in Class 7A, Area 8.

Bradley Belt continued his hot play scoring 28 points as the Jets pulled away to a 70-52 win.

James Clemens started slow and trailed 14-8 after a quarter but came back to take a 30-24 halftime lead. The Jets pulled away in the second half outscoring the Trojans 40-28.

Zach Hancock and Marquis Mitchel each had 14 points, Mitchell had 14 rebounds and Hancock had 9. James Clemens outrebounded Hazel Green  49-19.

Over at Bob Jones, Sparkman won a close game 58-55 to close both teams area games.

That means Sparkman and James Clemens are tied on top of the area standings with Hazel Green third and Bob Jones fourth. The coaches will break the tie with a coin flip at the area meeting at Hazel Green Wednesday morning.

On the girls side everything is finalized. Hazel Green finished first and will host. Sparkman is second, Bob Jones third and James Clemens fourth. The girls games will be Feb. 11 but the final schedule will be determined at the area meeting.

James Clemens will hold senior night Friday Feb. 5 against Johnson.

Bob Jones will have senior night on Thursday Feb. 4 against Buckhorn.
