Madison Gazebo Concert lineup opens June 2

MADISON – A summer tradition for the town, the Madison Gazebo Concert series will open with a ‘double feature.’

On June 2, JED Eye will rock the crowd with cover songs that range from classics from Credence Clearwater Revival to contemporary artists like Daughtry. Also that night, Madison Community Band will play a range of audience favorites from traditional marches and patriotic Music to Broadway tunes and TV/movie themes.

“Madison Gazebo Concerts provide entertainment for the entire family,” Laura Pope said. “This free music event is held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. each Thursday on Front Street in downtown Madison.” Pope is a member of Madison Arts Council (MAC), sponsor for the concerts.

On June 9, The Zooks will perform dance favorites, rock anthems and Motown tunes. A local group from Huntsville, The Beasley Brothers, with brothers Lawson and Jackson Beasley and their band members, will share selections from the pop/rock genre.

PMB will offer their style of classic rock, folk and bluegrass on June 23. June 30 will feature a double-header with Silvery Moon Band and their ‘Big Band’ standards, along with Southern Splendor with Rocket City Chorus singing a capella barbershop tunes.

Meghan Robinson will be featured on July 7 when she performs alternative and Indie music. Also that night, Tres Locos will liven the crowd with blues and rock sets.

One of North Alabama’s favorites, Microwave Dave and The Nukes will play down-and-dirty blues on July 14. The double bill on July 21 will feature tropical rhythms from Alabama Latin Band and Calypso Vision with Jimmy Buffet-style rock-n-roll.

Divide by Zero will entertain with rock covers on July 28 to close the 2016 series.

“We encourage you to bring a lawn chair or blanket to relax under the shade trees,” Pope said. “Food vendors will be onsite selling fresh sandwiches, artisan teas, fruit, snow cones and more.”

Each week, a different MAC partner will host a free activity for the younger crowd. “Well-behaved and leashed canines are welcomed,” Pope said.
