MADISON – What viewpoint does your council candidate have on annexation? What are your mayoral candidate’s top priorities for the city? These questions and many others can be answered at an upcoming library event.

Madison Public Library will host the “Meet the Candidates” Forum on Aug. 14 at 3 p.m. in the Community Room. All citizens are welcome to attend.

“This forum will give Madison city residents the opportunity to have their voices heard by those running in the Aug. 23 election,” library branch manager Sarah Sledge said.

Business professional, community volunteer and theatre veteran Gaylen Pugh will moderate this public event. Each candidate will have an opportunity to make a brief statement, followed by a question-and-answer session from the public in the audience.

“Attendees wishing to pose a question to the candidates may do so by submitting their question(s) in writing at the event,” Sledge said. “Questions will be prioritized by topic, with the moderator asking the most frequently submitted questions first.”

Library staff members have invited all mayoral and city council candidates to the forum.
