Nail arrested in Edgewater fatality hit and run

MADISON – Madison police responded to a fatality hit and run involving a pedestrian on Edgewater Drive at approximately 6 a.m. on February 19.

Traffic safety units and detectives responded to the scene. Madison police identified a suspect who was later arrested and charged with a felony.

Madison Police Department detectives charged 26-year-old Erica Nail of Huntsville with Felony Leaving the Scene of an Accident. Nail was booked into the Madison County Jail and held pending a $30,000 bond.

Madison police have identified the victim as 75-year-old Carol Ann Arey of Huntsville.

A police spokesman said the investigation is ongoing, and additional charges are possible. No further information will be released at this time.
